New: Anthony Loke to Seek Audience with Sultan Selangor Over LRT3 Remarks

MUAR, July 3 – DAP secretary‑general Anthony Loke Siew Fook said he will request an audience with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to provide clarification following the ruler’s remarks on the rationalisation of the LRT3 project. Loke stated that the coalition accepted the Sultan’s criticism with an open heart and intended to explain the facts behind the cost‑cutting measures taken during Pakatan Harapan’s administration.

He noted that former finance minister Lim Guan Eng and adviser Tony Pua had already issued a joint statement outlining the rationale for the decision. Speaking at a charity dinner in Bakri, Loke stressed that PH’s move was never meant to cancel the project but to ensure financial sustainability.
