DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke dismissed Kampar MP Chong Zhemin’s suggestion that MCA dissolve and join DAP, stating it’s not DAP’s stance. Responding to Chong’s comments, Loke said, “The matter was never discussed. I don’t think there is a possibility of that happening.” Chong argued MCA’s two parliamentary seats, won with Umno’s support, should be returned, claiming MCA no longer represents the Chinese community. The spat stems from Umno-Bersatu tensions, sparked by Umno Veterans’ Club urging Bersatu to disband and join Umno, highlighting ongoing political rivalries. In return Muhyiddin, Bersatu chair, told Umno to dissolve in Bersatu instead.
