KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — Police believe shame and pressure from debts amounting to RM260,000, linked to a “love scam” involving his wife, drove a man to kill three family members before taking his own life in Desa ParkCity yesterday.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said investigators found a note left by the suspect on the dining table, expressing regret over his wife’s alleged involvement with a scammer. “The wife was said to still be contacting the scammer, and the suspect felt the act was excessive and was ashamed before his children,” Fadil said.
Murder-Suicide
Post-mortem examinations at Hospital Kuala Lumpur confirmed the nine-year-old daughter suffered a fatal stab wound to the neck. Autopsies on the wife and another child are ongoing, while the suspect’s autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
Forensic teams recovered a knife and gloves believed to be the murder weapons from the master bedroom. Police continue detailed investigations into the family’s background and circumstances.
The incident shocked residents after the man was found dead from a fall at the condominium, while his wife and two children were discovered lifeless inside their unit.
