The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has seized millions of ringgit in cash, gold, and luxury items and frozen tens of millions in company accounts in an investigation into alleged corruption involving army procurement contracts. MACC chief Tan Sri Azam Baki said the probe focuses on two major cases involving bribery, abuse of power, and money laundering.
Army Procurement
A total of 23 individuals, including armed forces personnel and civilians, have been arrested. Seized assets include RM5.8 million in cash, luxury watches, jewellery, and a Range Rover, with 75 company accounts frozen. Investigation papers are expected to be submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers next week.
