Don’t buy Malaysia’s diet coffee now, Singaporeans warned

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has warned against purchasing and consuming a diet coffee brand, a Malaysian weight-loss product found to contain the banned substance sibutramine. Banned in Singapore since 2010, sibutramine poses serious health risks, including heart attacks, strokes, and central nervous system disorders.

The SFA has collaborated with online platforms to remove listings of the product and has cautioned sellers against its sale. Consumers are advised to avoid the coffee and seek medical advice if they have consumed it. Offenders selling unsafe food in Singapore face fines up to S$10,000, imprisonment, or both for repeat offenses.
