Five social media influencers now plead not guilty to promoting online ‘sin’

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — Five social media influencers were charged in two Magistrates’ Courts today for promoting gambling premises on their platforms. Aileen Koh, Hayatunnuffus Zakariya, Nurul Syifa Aliya Adanan, Nurazalina Mustafa, and Noor Shahnez Marzuani pleaded not guilty.

Charges included promoting gambling on Instagram and in public places, violating the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. The charges carry fines and imprisonment. Bail was set between RM4,000 and RM5,000 due to the accused’s low incomes. The cases are set for re-mention on August 15 and 26.
