As of January 20th, Singaporeans can use electronic gate facilities at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints between Singapore and Johor Bahru to clear customs.
The move was announced by Malaysia’s Minister for Home Affairs, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and is expected to benefit up to 50,000 Singaporeans and ease congestion at the checkpoints.

Singaporeans must meet conditions before using the e-gates, including having an electronic biometric passport with a validity of at least 3 months.
