A tragic accident in Kota Tinggi claimed the lives of Rubeta Mohd, 51, and her daughter Nur Isyirah Syakirah, 14, while leaving the family’s father, Kamilin Alias, 56, critically injured. The crash occurred at Kilometer 71, Jalan Johor Bahru-Mersing, on May 1.

Their son, Mohd Izat Kamilin, 22, anxiously tried to contact his family after receiving a message from his sister earlier that evening, only to be informed by police of the fatal accident. The family was returning home to Taman Sri Saujana after attending a relative’s wedding in Mersing. Kamilin remains in intensive care at Hospital Sultan Ismail.
