The Malaysian Cabinet has approved the cultivation of hemp and ketum for therapeutic purposes, a news report say.
It quotes deputy multimedia and communications minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin as saying was a lot of demand for hemp and ketum in other countries because of their therapeutic properties, and he was optimistic the Cabinet would authorise their medical usage here soon.
“This is a very good development, especially for those involved in the medical field. But I would like to reiterate that any approval is for medicinal purposes and not for recreational use,” he said to a local portal. More @LatestMalaysia
