A Malaysian employee of Singapore’s SBS Transit has gone on trial, accused of impersonating a police officer before raping a migrant domestic helper. The 48‑year‑old allegedly approached the victim and her friends near Little India MRT Station in July 2022, pretending to check identification documents.
Assaulting Maid
Prosecutors said he used a body‑worn camera to mimic scanning permits, then ordered the woman to follow him. He allegedly assaulted her in nearby bushes, with DNA evidence later linking him to the crime. He faces two rape charges and one charge of personating a public servant. The trial continues in Singapore’s courts.
