The debate on the naming conventions of our local brands has gotten a lot agitated on social media. Some users are upset over Zus Coffee and US Pizza, but others feel that this is not a major problem. Now, X users say Malaysians are too privileged to complain about small mediocre issues when there are troubling things happening in the world.
X users feel Malaysians too privileged
This is in lieu of the recent statement released by Zus Coffee stating they have nothing to do with the Greek god Zeus. They claim the man in the logo is an Ethiopian goatherd who supposedly discovered coffee berries. However, netizens are saying that complaining about the name of a company shows many have the luxury of time and energy to do so.
Some are unconvinced with the clarification from Zus Coffee. Some Malaysians also say that many other brands are literally using Greek Gods as their logo and brand name, yet many are still fine with them. Furthermore, many still believe that boycotting local products on facts that are unconfirmed is ridiculous.
