Man Discovers roach in Throat After Days of Discomfort

A 58-year-old man from Haikou, China, woke up with a ticklish feeling in his nose and throat, which he dismissed. Days later, after experiencing foul breath and coughing up yellow mucus, he sought medical attention. An ENT specialist initially found nothing unusual, but after a second consultation, a CT scan revealed a foreign object in his bronchus. A bronchoscopy uncovered the surprising culprit – a cockroach lodged in his airway, surrounded by phlegm. The insect was promptly removed, and the area cleaned. The doctor emphasized the rarity of such cases and advised immediate medical attention for similar symptoms.
