MCA Chief: Let Malaysians Return Unneeded RM100 Cash Aid

MCA President Wee Ka Siong has proposed a mechanism for Malaysians who do not need the RM100 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid to voluntarily return it. He believes the funds should benefit the truly needy and improve public healthcare and education. 

MCA Chief: Let Malaysians Return Unneeded RM100 Cash Aid

Wee urged leaders, including PM Anwar and former PM Mahathir, to lead by example and forgo the aid. The SARA initiative, announced by Anwar, benefits 22 million adults at a cost of RM2 billion. 

Wee suggested the returned funds could help shorten long hospital wait times and provide scholarships to high-achieving students still denied entry into public universities.
