New: Rafizi Warns of Growing Melaka Voter Backlash Against PH

Melaka Voter Backlash, transkrip, relentless critique, Zahir Hassan Defends Friendship With Rafizi: “I Won’t Avoid Him” calon prn melaka, Cabaran Bersama, e-invoice

According to internal survey data highlighted by former economy minister and Parti Bersama Malaysia co-leader Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, Pakatan Harapan (PH) faces significant headwinds among fence-sitters in Melaka ahead of the upcoming state election.

Rafizi revealed findings from a large-scale survey conducted in August 2026, which polled Melaka voters on whether they simply wanted to see PH lose in the upcoming election, regardless of which competing party wins.

“In August 2026, a survey asking Melaka voters if they just want to see PH lose—no matter which party wins—showed that 43% of Malay voters agreed.

“Among Chinese voters, the number was higher at 44%, while Indian voters were the highest at 49%,” said Rafizi, who is on the campaign trail in Melaka.

Addressing the implications of the survey, Rafizi noted that the shifting sentiment reflects broader frustration among moderate voters who feel the coalition has failed to fulfill its reform promises over the past decade.

Melaka Voter Backlash

“This has nothing to do with BERSAMA. Middle voters have given PH two election campaigns—nearly ten years of opportunity. They feel PH has not delivered results, and now they just want to convey a message to PH.

“Previously, I was in PH, helping PH set election strategies. Now that I am no longer there, I can only wish PH good luck.”

While political strategists analyze high-level survey metrics, local dynamics on the ground in constituencies such as Bandar Hilir, Ayer Keroh, and Ujong Pasir indicate a more complex voter mindset ahead of the November 14 polling day.

Chinese voters across Melaka emphasized that casting their ballots remains a critical civic responsibility, even as many stay tight-lipped about their specific political preferences, says Free Malaysia Today.

Despite lingering concerns over declining participation, many Chinese voters in Melaka view voting as an essential civic duty, with parents going so far as to arrange travel for their children working abroad to ensure their ballots are cast.

Non-malay votes

However, turnout anxiety hangs over the election. Analysts point to past regional state polls where drops in turnout among non-Malay communities noticeably shifted support balances and weakened traditional party strongholds.

Rather than sticking strictly to party lines, voters are increasingly prioritizing concrete track records and personal responsiveness. Key considerations include quick resolution of local neighborhood issues—such as housing maintenance, infrastructure repairs, and direct community support—over overarching national political narratives.

While some residents appreciate dedicated attention to senior citizens and rapid response times from incumbents across party lines, many remain tight-lipped about their final choice, reflecting a cautious electorate focused squarely on candidate performance.
