Ahmad Fadhli has questioned why government aid already announced in Budget 2027 on Oct 9 was raised again at a Pakatan Harapan (PH) event in Melaka. He asked whether the aim was to announce a handover schedule or to give the impression the money came from the party.
He pointed to Transport Minister Anthony Loke’s earlier actions in Negeri Sembilan. After the state assembly was dissolved on Jun 5, Loke launched the RM500,000 Kampung Angkat Madani programme in Chennah on Jul 12.
“Duit Rakyat Bukan Tabung Kempen DAP”: Ahmad Fadhli Questions Anthony Loke
On Jul 16, RM100,000 was announced for Kampung Bukit Temiang, half from the Railway Assets Corporation and half from Loke’s Seremban MP allocation.
Loke later lost the Chennah seat to MCA’s Siow Kong Choon by 688 votes. Ahmad Fadhli said that did not prove abuse of power, but should remind him to separate government and party business.
He also asked whether the Oct 26 Melaka handover ceremony was in the original schedule, who approved it, and why it was announced at the launch of PH’s election machinery. He stressed he was not questioning aid to the people. If everything followed procedure, he said, the schedule, approval letters and spending records should be shown.
“Duit rakyat tetap duit rakyat. Bukan tabung kempen DAP,” he said.
