Perikatan Nasional (PN) will take disciplinary action against Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) for acting against the coalition’s interests.
PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the decision was made at last night’s Supreme Council meeting under Clause 15 of the PN constitution.
PN Will Use Coalition Logo in Melaka Polls
He explained that the council has the power to discipline any member party, including issuing warnings, suspending or expelling those who act against PN’s interests.
PN will take the appropriate steps in the disciplinary proceedings and will submit the charges to Bersatu. Bersatu will be given sufficient time to respond before any further action is taken.
Takiyuddin also said PN has decided to use the coalition logo in the 16th Melaka state election. The number of seats and candidates will be finalised after several more meetings.
He added that the court’s stay of the Registrar of Societies’ (RoS) action on Oct 22 returned PN to its original position, allowing it to continue its activities and role as usual.
The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the Melaka election, with nominations on Oct 31 and early voting on Nov 10.
