The voter mentioned receiving RM100 and claimed it could sustain them for two days. Dr. Mahathir attributed his loss of over 14,000 votes in the election to corruption. He emphasized that voters should be more responsible towards the country and not succumb to the influence of money politics.
Mahathir advised voters not to waste their votes for the sake of receiving bribes. However, Mahathir recently gave his support to TS Muhyiddin Yassin, the leader of the PN, the party that caused him to lose his deposit while the seat was won by PN candidate Mohd. Suhaimi Abdullah with 25,463 votes.
