A Threads user has gone viral after asking others why they pay up to RM400 a month for an AI subscription. The replies poured in, with many users claiming they earn as much as RM80,000 a month while spending only about RM1,100 monthly on AI tools.

Commenters say having multiple income streams is the norm today, and that AI is helping many people earn the extra income they need.

The article adds that earning at that level also takes personal experience and working experience built up over time.

Others argued that paying RM400 a month for an AI assistant makes more sense than paying nearly RM2,000 for a worker who may not finish everything the AI can do in a single day.

Not everyone is comfortable with this. There are growing concerns about real jobs being taken over by AI.

Even so, businesses in Malaysia appear to be adapting. Many owners see AI as a daily operational cost rather than an expense, and some say adapting an established business with AI is one way people are earning high incomes.
