Muhyiddin Yassin has strongly denied allegations that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is forming close ties with Pakatan Harapan (PH), calling the claims baseless and malicious. In a statement, the Bersatu president said such accusations were intended to disrupt harmony within the party and the broader Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
Muhyiddin Rejects Allegations of Bersatu Aligning with Pakatan Harapan
Muhyiddin emphasised that the matter was never discussed at any level of party leadership, including the Supreme Council which determines Bersatu’s policies. He reiterated that the party remains committed to its founding principles of defending religion, nation and the welfare of the people, while any cooperation with other parties must align with these values.
He added that Bersatu’s current focus is on strengthening the party and consolidating Perikatan Nasional ahead of the next general election (PRU-16). Online, reactions were mixed, with some expressing support for his stance while others questioned the party’s direction and past decisions.
