KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21, 2026 – The High Court heard testimony that former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin never requested contributions for himself or his party, Bersatu, in relation to the Jana Wibawa programme.
Lian Tan Chuan, director of Metrasys Sdn Bhd, testified that he had never met Muhyiddin before instructing his business partner to prepare letters of interest for five companies, including Nepturis Sdn Bhd, to apply for projects under the programme. He confirmed during cross-examination by defence counsel Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad that Muhyiddin never asked him for donations.

Lian explained that Bersatu Segambut deputy division chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad had asked him to prepare application documents for the North Klang District Police Headquarters project. He said Adam later informed him that Muhyiddin had minuted his support on the application.
During re-examination, Lian stated that businessman Datuk Azman Yusoff and Adam Radlan were the ones who requested a RM1 million donation to Bersatu after Nepturis received the Letter of Acceptance in January 2022. He denied any intent to deceive the government, noting limited opportunities for non-Bumiputera firms. The trial, presided over by Judge Datuk Noor Ruwena Md Nurdin, continues.
