Judge Karim Jalil rules that the bench upholds the trial judge’s conviction, RM210 million fine and 12-year jail term against Najib and that the trial judge correctly found Najib guilty on all 7 charges.
He says the bench dismisses Najib’s appeal as the Court rules that the prosecution has successfully proven all seven charges of abuse of power, criminal breach of trust and money laundering against him.
STAY OF EXECUTION
Nevertheless, Najib is granted a stay of execution of the 12-year jail term and RM210 million fine and the stay of execution covers the conviction against Najib, pending appeal to the Federal Court.
There are no changes in terms of the stay and they remain as that given by the High Court that is the bail remains at RM2 million with two sureties and Najib has to report to the nearest police station twice a month.
