PAS’s Manjoi assemblyman Hafez Sabri has apologised for a Facebook post on the Perak National Day security breach involving Sultan Nazrin Shah, after it went viral and drew criticism for being racially charged. Hafez admitted his initial post was based on inaccurate early information but claimed “irresponsible parties” spread screenshots before he corrected it. He stressed he had no intention of raising racial issues and has since deleted the post, apologising for the error. Police confirmed the intruder was a 41-year-old Malay woman with a psychiatric history. DAP Youth wings in Penang and Negeri Sembilan have lodged police reports. Should the reps double or triple verify all information before they post for public consumption on social media?
