KUALA LUMPUR – The Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (TEID) has directed all state contingents to intensify operations against drunk drivers under Op Mabuk, with weekend nights as the main focus. TEID director Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali said enforcement will also extend to normal nights to ensure consistency.
Drunk Driving
The move follows recent incidents, including a man arrested for driving against traffic while intoxicated on the Sprint Highway. Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said recently suggested reviewing traffic laws to impose harsher penalties after a fatal crash in Klang involving a driver under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
