The Royal Malaysia Police will deploy approximately 9,500 personnel to safeguard the upcoming Sabah State Election, covering all 73 contested seats and over 3,500 polling stations. Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail emphasized the need for helicopters and logistical support due to Sabah’s vast terrain.

Bukit Aman will assist with deployment, while Sabah police have requested an additional 1,500 officers. The force is awaiting the Election Commission’s official date announcement. Mohd Khalid also thanked the government for Budget 2026 allocations that improve police welfare and operational readiness. The announcement followed a graduation parade for 345 new inspectors.
