Protesters Face Prison for Giving French President the Middle Finger

Three anti-Macron protesters in France are set to face prosecution over allegations that they gave the French president the middle finger while he was on a tour of the country. The individuals are accused of breaking a French law that forbids statements that affect the personal dignity or respect owed to a public official.

Protesters Face Jail

If found guilty, they could face heavy penalties, including a fine of up to €15,000 and up to one year in prison. This is not the first time that French authorities have targeted individuals for insulting Macron, with another woman recently arrested over an online post.
