GEORGE TOWN: Independent preacher Zamri Vinoth will be summoned by police to assist investigations into allegations of threatening, provocative, and racist remarks made during a TikTok live broadcast.

Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the move following a report lodged on March 8. The case is being investigated under the Sedition Act 1948, Penal Code Section 504, and Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Separately, police are finalizing a report on criminal intimidation and mischief involving Zamri’s vehicle on March 7. Six men, aged 20 to 31, have been detained under Sections 506 and 427 of the Penal Code.
