PUTRAJAYA, May 24 — Urimai interim council chairman Prof P. Ramasamy met former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday to gain insights into Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s mindset. Ramasamy, joined by Urimai’s David Marshel and Satees Muniandy, described the hour-long meeting as a fact-finding mission, not an endorsement of Mahathir. Mahathir claimed Anwar betrayed him in UMNO by aligning with Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Ramasamy raised concerns about the unregistered Urimai party’s push for non-Malay rights, inclusive politics, and the unresolved Thai Muslim conflict in Southern Thailand.
