Rapid KL is under scrutiny among Malaysians for their new public service announcement video with regards to harassment. They did a video where a woman was stalking a man, and advised that if anyone feels uncomfortable they should contact the auxiliary police. However, netizens feel that this is unfair.
Rapid KL under fire by netizens
A Twitter user states that a woman was recently harassed by a man at one of their stations. Furthermore, users are asking what they did in order to stop these kinds of problems from occurring again. Netizens are claiming that Rapid KL should find other ways to bridge the gap on gender equality.
Other users state that this isn’t the norm as typically it would be strange men following women in these places. However, there are some users who did praise the transportation company for at least being aware and doing something regarding cases like these happening in broad daylight.
