KUALA LUMPUR: PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has described the turnout at the Turun Anwar rally as a “real vote of no confidence” against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Speaking after the rally, which police estimated drew 18,000 participants, Takiyuddin urged Anwar to resign, calling it a moral decision in response to public sentiment. He argued that a Dewan Rakyat vote may not reflect the will of the people and dismissed the need to table a formal motion. Organised by PAS Youth, the rally at Dataran Merdeka demanded Anwar’s resignation, though the group claimed over 200,000 attended.
