Story (100 words): KAJANG — Running red lights and using mobile phones while driving were the most common offences recorded during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 Special Operation in Selangor. The Road Transport Department (JPJ) reported that despite repeated reminders, these violations remain widespread. Conducted from March 13 to 29, the operation involved 334 enforcement officers and inspections of 45,140 vehicles.
Red Light Violations
A total of 6,688 offences were recorded, with 1,789 vehicles facing action under the Road Transport Act 1987. Other offences included expired road tax, driving without a licence, lack of insurance, technical faults, and overloading. Enforcement also noted improved compliance among goods vehicles.
