KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 — A late-night enforcement operation by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Rawang turned hostile when officers were attacked with firecrackers by a group of motorcyclists. The incident occurred around 10pm near the LATAR–Tasik Puteri area, after JPJ stopped a rider and passenger without helmets. Checks revealed multiple offences, including no licence, expired road tax, and lack of insurance.

As officers issued notices, 20 to 30 motorcyclists hurled firecrackers and shouted profanities.
