Rosmah Says Donors Want Najib Home

Rosmah Mansor, wife of former prime minister Najib Razak, has expressed gratitude to supporters who contributed to fundraising efforts aimed at helping Najib pay the RM50 million fine tied to his conditional pardon. 

In a Facebook post last night, Rosmah said donors “only want to see Datuk return to his family,” noting that contributions came not only from friends in Malaysia but also from abroad, including Brunei, Italy, Singapore, and Canada.

She added that many had contacted her directly to share their joy over Najib’s conditional release and their willingness to assist financially. 

Najib’s daughter, Nooryana Najwa, echoed the sentiment in an Instagram post, recalling how Najib was deeply moved during a family visit on 19 September. 

“Daddy really didn’t expect so many people would contribute,” she quoted him as saying, stressing that donations were voluntary.

Najib was granted a conditional pardon on 18 September, requiring him to pay RM50 million before serving the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. 

Following the decision, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced a party‑led fundraising campaign. Najib’s lawyer, Shafee Abdullah, later said his client’s ability to pay depends on frozen assets and enforcement actions, adding Najib does not want supporters to feel burdened.
