New: Former Technician Charged with Murdering Wife in Kulim

KULIM, Sept 21, 2026 — A former technician, G. Vikneswaran, 43, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with murdering his wife, S. Sila, 39, at their home in Taman Tiram on Sept 14.

The charge, read before Magistrate Nur Hamizah Mat Shah, falls under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years plus at least 12 strokes of the cane if the death penalty is not imposed.

Technician Charged

No plea was recorded as the case is under High Court jurisdiction. Deputy Public Prosecutor S. Preeyaa appeared for the prosecution, while Vikneswaran was unrepresented.

Police earlier reported the victim was stabbed 13 times, with jealousy suspected as the motive. The accused later surrendered at Lunas police station. – Photo: Bernama
