KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 – Rosmah Mansor, wife of former prime minister Najib Razak, has filed a defamation suit against comedian Harith Iskander over a stand-up routine she claims mocked and insulted her. The writ of summons was lodged at the High Court on June 9. Rosmah alleges Harith compared her to frightening Malaysian folklore figures such as the toyol, pontianak, and pocong, displaying her image during his show in Melaka on Jan 17.

She said the act subjected her to ridicule and body shaming. Harith denied the allegations, arguing the routine must be viewed in the full context of comedy. He added Rosmah’s case relied on TikTok clips uploaded without permission, which did not reflect his entire 90‑minute performance.
