Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola seems to agree that the Saudi Arabia football league is a now a game changer. When Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al Nassr, many were laughing. Today the Saudi Pro League had “completely changed the market” says Guardiola. To us, Ronaldo played a bigger role in this change.

City winger Riyad Mahrez this week became just the latest big name to move to Saudi football. Karim Benzema is another one. Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mane is also on the list to join a Saudi club. Ronaldo was probably the first to announce that the Saudi Pro League is even better than those in the EU. Only the Premier League is the best, he says.
