KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal government and state Islamic Religious councils (MAIN) are open to developing wakaf land, providing initiatives that benefit the community and adhering to Syariah law. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, emphasised that all waqf land developments must comply with existing regulations, such as the National Land Code.

The government is committed to fostering the Islamic economy through wakaf land development, supported by resources in each Malaysia Plan. Cooperation between public and private sectors, federal agencies like JAWHAR and YWM, and NGOs is encouraged to advance initiatives.
