A Threads post has gone viral after a newlywed bride discovered her wedding emcee’s Instagram Stories, which allegedly mocked her outdoor ceremony. The bride, @imsyzzy, shared screenshots in which the emcee said she and a team member laughed through much of the event.
Emcee Says She Laughed Through Ceremony as Bali-Inspired Plan Became Traditional Malay Wedding
In the posts, the emcee said the wedding was very different from what she had expected. She wrote that her feet ached from heels on uneven, stony paths, and that she kept wondering where the rostrum, emcee’s station, fans, chairs and event organiser were.
She said there was no run sheet, the person meant to lead prayers could leave right after the opening, and the fans were only switched on when the couple sat on the dais. One uncle set a fan to full speed, blowing the flowers off the dais.
The emcee added that the planned Bali-inspired concept ended up as a traditional Malay-style wedding. She said her remarks were about an unforgettable experience, not the “level” of the event.
The bride took it in stride, saying she had a great time at her wedding. She wrote that her emcee apparently looked down on it, and apologised sarcastically that it wasn’t at the “T20 level” of the weddings the emcee usually attends.
