Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail revealed that Police Special Branch is actively monitoring a South Korean-origin religious group labelled a “cult”. He said the organisation is on security forces’ radar, with its structure, activities and local involvement known, but it has not reached a level threatening national security.

“Its activities appear in general forms that, at a glance, do not show anything that we can regard as a threat,” Saifuddin told reporters. The issue surfaced after Perlis Mufti Datuk Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin claimed several Muslim MPs and politicians were linked to the unrecognised group. Saifuddin urged informants to provide details to authorities.
