KUALA PILAH, July 31 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed his openness to constructive criticism, urging critics not to dismiss his administration’s efforts as ineffective. Speaking at a religious gathering in Kuala Pilah, Anwar emphasized that weaknesses should be highlighted in a way that allows improvement, while noting the government’s initiatives to ease the burden of rising living costs.
Criticism
He pointed to the government’s decision to maintain RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per liter, despite subsidies costing RM40–45 billion annually. “Every time you fill up, remember the government is bearing most of the cost to reduce the people’s burden,” he said.
Anwar added that his administration’s mission extends beyond economic measures, aiming to uplift the Malay community in need of support and to strengthen Islam through meaningful action rather than rhetoric. Are they days of complaining that people ‘Nyet Nyet Nyet” over?
