Lee criticized Muhyiddin’s recent comments that reportedly undermined the Pahang Sultan’s role as the previous Yang di-Pertuan Agong, claiming they have confused Malaysians.

According to Lee, Muhyiddin’s defense of his remarks was irresponsible and disrespectful, challenging royal decisions and causing public confusion. The police will record Muhyiddin’s statement following several reports about his remarks during the Nenggiri by-election campaign, where he accused Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah of bias in appointing the prime minister post-2022 elections.
