SINGAPORE – Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Faishal Ibrahim announced key initiatives during his first Hari Raya speech on Apr. 10. The Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy (TTFS) administered by Mendaki will be enhanced from AY2026/2027, with raised income eligibility and new subsidy tiers. Students from households with per capita income (PCI) up to S$1,700 will receive full subsidies, while a new 25 per cent tier will cover PCI between S$2,201 and S$2,400.

Faishal also introduced the Committee for Economic Resilience, led by MPs Wan Rizal and Saktiandi Supaat, to address challenges such as AI, competitive job markets, and global opportunities. He emphasized the need for the community to harness knowledge and contribute meaningfully to Singapore’s economy.
Plans for new mosques in Tampines North and Tengah, upgrades to Ar-Raudhah Mosque, and leadership programmes for Asatizah were also highlighted. Faishal urged students and religious teachers to pursue aspirations boldly.
