Apparently, in lieu of recent discussions there are some individuals claiming to be of a pure race. Netizens share their concerns towards such behavior. An X user claims that most Malays are of Bugis or Javanese origins and goes on to claim that he is the purest one.
Netizens say take DNA test first before claiming to be a “pure Malay”
Another user adds that it would be wiser to take a DNA test first before making such claims. It would be embarrassing to find out that their origins could possibly be not Malay at all. This is in lieu of the fact that the mixtures between us and our neighbors have happened in the past.
Others say our culture is generally accepting of others, and hence a lot of our people tend to marry those of foreign origins. An X user directed the original user citing that those in the northern states would typically have a higher Thai mixture.
