Teresa Kok raised questions on ‘inflated costs’ of smartboards, smart tvs

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has questioned the inflated costs of smartboards and smart TVs purchased for 16 schools using public funds. The total allocation of RM99,000 per school far exceeded the actual price of RM55,299 as verified by the official LG distributor. This discrepancy of RM43,701 per school amounts to RM699,216 in excessive payments. Kok raised the issue in Parliament sometime back, expressing concerns over the Federal Territories Education Department’s directive to buy the products. Now that her former officers have been arrested, she has pledged full cooperation with the MACC as investigations continue into her two former staff members.
