Three Malaysian men, aged between 25 and 29, were arrested by Laotian authorities on May 27 for attempting to smuggle 103 packages of marijuana—estimated at 86 kilograms—through Wattay International Airport.

One of the suspects is reportedly a local rap artist. The trio had arrived in Laos via Thai Airways on May 22 and were en route to Germany when their luggage raised suspicions during a security screening.
Authorities uncovered the drugs concealed inside six bags. Bukit Aman confirmed the arrests and is working to determine if the drugs originated from Malaysia or Thailand. The suspects are in Laotian custody pending charges.
