KUALA LUMPUR: Pro-Palestine group BDS Malaysia criticised Suria KLCC after several protesters supporting Gaza were denied entry into the mall yesterday. The group said treating demonstrators as “potential security threats” was unacceptable in Malaysia and demanded an apology, particularly to former Batu MP Tian Chua, who clashed with security personnel. BDS Malaysia rejected the mall’s explanation that a Palestinian flag’s wooden stick posed a safety risk, noting others with keffiyehs and posters were also barred. Suria KLCC maintained its actions followed standard safety procedures. The protest was held ahead of US President Donald Trump’s planned visit to Malaysia.
