PETALING JAYA, July 21, 2026 – Perak DAP vice‑chairman Aziz Bari has advised Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan (Tok Mat) to be more cautious when making statements during the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election campaign.
Aziz said Tok Mat could learn from BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who has shown restraint and prudence in his remarks, even in Johor. He questioned how Tok Mat could campaign without criticising federal partner Pakatan Harapan (PH), given BN’s electoral pact with Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim recently warned ministers against attacking government colleagues during state polls, saying violators should step down. Tok Mat responded that he was willing to resign as foreign minister if ordered, but insisted he would not attack unity government leaders during the campaign.
