BALIK PULAU – A female trader, Sarah Phoon, 29, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court today to charges of possessing 102 units of obscene devices in the form of sex toys last February. She admitted the charge before Magistrate Chia Huey Ting.

The incident occurred at her business premises in a popular shopping center in Bayan Lepas on February 6. Prosecutor Mahadzir Saad from the Ministry of Home Affairs handled the case, while Teh Yi Kai from the National Legal Aid Foundation represented Sarah. The court fined her RM2,000, with a two-month prison sentence if unpaid. She promptly paid the fine.
