BATU PAHAT, Oct 10, 2026— Two women were killed after the Perodua Myvi they were travelling in caught fire following a collision with a lorry at Batu 1, Jalan Yong Peng-Ayer Hitam, on Friday. The incident occurred at about 4.20pm when the car, driven by 22-year-old Siti Nur Batrisya Mohd Khalid, collided with a lorry before bursting into flames.
Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Mohd Shamin Mohamed Salikin said emergency services received a distress call at 4.25pm.
Two Women Killed
Upon arrival, firefighters found the Myvi engulfed in flames, with about 80 per cent of the vehicle destroyed. The driver and her passenger, identified as Siti Nurmaisarah Abd Jalil, were trapped in the front seats of the vehicle. Firefighters extinguished the blaze using water from the fire engine before carrying out rescue operations with special equipment to remove the victims.
