Tyre Company, Directors Charged Over Fake SIRIM Logos

Yik Woh Tyre Enterprise Sdn Bhd and its directors, Yip Wei Leong, 43, and Yip Wing Kee, 70, pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court to charges of using fake SIRIM MS 224:2005 logo stickers on 107 retreaded tyres without approval.

The alleged offence occurred on Feb 13 at Meranti Jaya Industrial Park, Puchong. The directors face up to RM200,000 in fines or three years’ jail under the Trade Descriptions Act 2011, with higher penalties for repeat offences. The company faces a fine of up to RM500,000. Bail was set at RM10,000 each, with Sept 25 fixed for case mention.
