A 64-year-old woman in Samut Prakan, Thailand, was rescued on the night of September 17 after battling a 4-meter-long reticulated python for over two hours. Ms. Arom was washing kitchen utensils behind her rented room when the python bit her and wrapped around her, causing her to fall. After struggling alone, she shouted for help, and nearby residents called the police. Rescuers and police officers arrived, broke open her door, and freed her after a 30-minute effort. Ms. Arom was treated for exhaustion and a bite on her thigh. The python escaped into the nearby reeds.
